INSIDE THE PROJECT

Victoria Kanki: Dresses made with time, intention, and heart

Victoria Kanki is the personal brand of an Ecuadorian designer with over 17 years of experience creating dresses for life’s most meaningful moments: quinceañeras, First Communions, Confirmations, and everything surrounding the bridal world.

▪ The starting point: From A to B

Victoria Kanki is the personal brand of an Ecuadorian designer with over 17 years of experience creating dresses for life’s most meaningful moments: quinceañeras, First Communions, Confirmations, and everything surrounding the bridal world. Her work has always been driven by craftsmanship, care, and deep respect for the stories each garment is made to hold.

For years, Victoria worked solely under her own name, trusting her skills and word of mouth. While her talent was unquestionable, her brand lacked an identity that truly reflected the sensitivity, order, and coherence behind the way she creates. She knew her brand had to carry her name, but it also needed a structure that showed who she is and how she works.

For Victoria, designing isn’t about chasing trends or producing at speed. Her process is calm, thoughtful, and intentional. Every dress has its own timing, its own rhythm, and its own purpose.

We worked closely with her on creating her Brand Kit, translating her experience, calm approach, and vision into a visual and verbal identity that feels coherent, elegant, and timeless. Through the Meraki mentoring programme, Victoria reorganised her business, moving from an intuitive way of working to a clear, well-structured brand that communicates its value with confidence and authenticity.

Victoria Kanki was born as a brand that honours craftsmanship, time, and emotion, giving meaning to handmade work and to the stories that deserve to be dressed with intention

▪ Pandora’s Box: What we discovered

  • Through the mentoring, we realised that although Victoria has over 25 years of experience creating dresses, her business had grown very organically. There wasn’t yet a clear structure around processes, priorities, or where she wanted the brand to go in the medium and long term, which meant everything still depended entirely on her.

  • Much of the way she worked was based on “this is how I’ve always done it”. During the mentoring, we identified a real opportunity to revisit pricing, timelines, client type and workload, so the business could align with her lifestyle instead of her life revolving around the business.

  • Victoria already had a very clear way of working: order, calm, and no rushing. Through the mentoring, we understood that this wasn’t just her process, but a powerful differentiator that could become the core of her brand and its value proposition.

▪ The Challenge: Mapping the master move

The starting point was clear: transforming years of experience into a structured, sustainable business. Through the mentoring, we defined the creative concept “Everything in its own time”, a reflection of Victoria’s calm, orderly and unhurried way of creating. Once the business model was clarified—from services and pricing to timelines and client experience—we moved into building the brand strategy. This allowed the brand to stop relying solely on personal reputation and start operating with intention, consistency and direction, setting solid foundations for growth without losing the essence of her craft.

Once the creative concept was defined, we developed the full brand kit to bring order and consistency to Victoria Kanki’s entire brand universe. The visual identity was built around a refined and elegant aesthetic, designed to highlight the craftsmanship and attention to detail present in every piece. On a verbal level, we defined a warm, respectful and human tone of voice that communicates experience, trust and dedication, without rushing the process. The sensory identity focused on conveying calm and care, reflecting both her way of working and the experience her clients live through at every stage. At the same time, the brand strategy was structured to align her communication, service offering and positioning, allowing her to present herself clearly and professionally while preserving her artisanal essence.

▪ Results: What we achieve together

After implementing the branding kit and receiving support through Meraki mentoring, Victoria Kanki managed to transform the way she presents, manages and projects her work, moving from a practise based solely on experience to a business with structure, clarity and direction.

  • By clearly defining her services, processes and working times, Victoria managed to reduce informal enquiries and increase requests from clients aligned with her type of handmade clothing by approximately 20%, especially for wedding dresses and special occasions, avoiding projects that did not respect her pace or quality.

  • Thanks to a consistent visual and verbal identity, Victoria was able to better communicate the value of her bespoke work, allowing her to readjust her prices by 15% without losing customers, attracting people who value the exclusivity, time and detail behind each piece..

  • By streamlining her business model and brand strategy, Victoria was able to reduce the time spent on repetitive clarifications and follow-ups by up to 30%, allowing her to focus on dressmaking, improve her planning and maintain a healthier work-life balance.

A kind note from the client

“Before mentoring, I felt stuck. I had ideas, but I didn't know which path to take.”

For many years, I worked from experience and intuition, but without a clear direction for my business or my brand. I felt stuck and insecure. The mentoring gave me direction, focus, and confidence. Now I know exactly where I’m heading and how to communicate my brand with intention.

Working on the brand kit was also a turning point for me. For the first time, I felt that my name, my work, and everything I do truly have an identity that represents me. Today, my brand reflects who I am, how I work, and the care I put into every dress. Everything feels more organised, clearer, and aligned with the calm and thoughtful way I create my pieces. I no longer just make dresses — I have a solid brand I trust and feel ready to keep growing with.
